I have a 1978 Harley Davidson 75th Anniversary 1000 sportster ironhead for sale. Don't know a lot about the bike, I have mostly old honda's & kawasaki's. Got it on a trade. The bike does run but probably needs the clutch adjusted. Appears to be in good shape. Clear Indiana title in hand. Let me know what questions you have and feel free to call 317-496-8803

You are looking at a "One of A Kind" Hand Built Thunder Road Motorcycles' Custom 1917 Harley Davidson replica rightfully dubbed "CopperHead"! This Motorcycle has been featured in Magazines, Calenders, and Taken "Best Hand Built Motorcycle" awards at various shows! This bike is NOT a kit. It started its life as a 1979 Harley Davidson Sportster and is currently registered as such today. But that is about the only info that will resemble its start as a 1979 Harley Davidson! The Ironhead 1000cc Sportster engine was chosen as the starting point of this project, the top end of this motor does not have through studs and allowed for heavy cosmetic modifications to produce the "One off" hand built "Copperhead" tribute you see today! This project was produced to portray the stylings and simple elegance of an early 1900's Harley Davidson but offer the owner features like electric start, disc brakes and modern controls! Finished in "Indian Burgundy" acrylic enamel paint, along with all hand painted lettering and striping, it is true to the vintage character it represents. This build took over 6 months to complete and most parts were completely fabricated from scratch using Hand Tools and a welder! The 21" Custom 80 Spoke Front & Rear wheels from "American Wire Wheel" with Radial Rotors are extraordinary! The disc brake set up looks like fine art accenting the wheels! Tires are 90-90-21 up front and 120-70-21 on rear. The unique "Jockey Shift" or Hand Shift with Rocker foot clutch smoothly shifts the 4 speed transmission and is a Fabricated marvel that must be seen in person! Antique accents like Gas primer cups, Gas Tank syringe, and Glass reader gauges exemplify an early century motorcycle but are not required for operation. This bike runs a standard 12 volt system and offers working headlight, tailight, signals and horn! The front forks were fabricated with the help of Factory H.D. Rockers & Springs and also feature one of a kind built-in dampener knobs with Latigo leather discs, all accenting the gold plated headlight bezel! The rear end including rear fender, tailight, and License plate bracket are all hinged and open to the side to allow for rear tire replacement when necessary! It has the standard points and Dyna coil, stock pistons, cams and lifters, the fuel is fed via a M88 Linkert Carburetor and has a dry sump oil system. The bike has been wired with all Mil-Spec wiring, and Euro Components Hand Controls operate the electronics. The riders seat was finished out by Persons Genuine Leather and offers a 3 stage built in cushion suspension. This bike is the nicest riding rigid frame you may ever experience! It is an absolute dream to ride and will draw crowds at every stop. If you have dreamed of owning a vintage Harley Davidson, but want some of the newer technology that makes your ride an enjoyable one, this is your one chance. This bike has about 175 miles on it since it was built and was last ridden in 2011. Since then it has been on display in a climate controlled facility until today. I will include links to video of it running today. FYI the exhaust is not smoking in the video, it has already dropped to 4 degrees celcius here.....brrrrrr! I know I have proabably missed on much of the info, but there is just too much to write about. Hopefully the links and videos will help to better describe this incredible build. Here is the link to Kneeslider, there's a short article and then a link to a youtube video: http://thekneeslider.com/copperhead-1917-harley-davidson-replica-from-a-1979-sportster/ Another short mention in the paper: http://autos.winnipegfreepress.com/news-article/willys-garage/World-of-WOW/id-4562/Video of it on the road and the hand built process:http://youtu.be/UQppNS9SyNo Magazine Spread: http://revolutionmotorcyclemag.com/en-featured-bike-No18.htm Start Up on a Cold Sunday November 9th afternoon! http://youtu.be/9CKEdttuLTo?list=UU8jT3L9ylnkMwKy89g_uLrg This bike is for sale locally and we reserve the right to remove the listing at anytime during this auction. Issues with the Bike are as follows: It Needs to be Re-Wired by a Professional, Needs longer battery cables for the Big Boar Battery because the terminals are on the opposite side of the battery that’s in place at the current moment. I have "every receipt" for the all of the work that was done to this Bike including the Clear Virginia Title, which will be sent to the winner of the Auction after Full payment has been received.. Funny Note: Regardless of what you think of my "aesthetic appeals" for the way the bike looks, The Motor alone is worth way more than what I'm asking for the bike. I not only wanted my bike to look good but I wanted it to Run even Better...!!!! PLEASE NOTE: If you are going to use a Contracted Shipping Company, They will need to be able to pick up from my residential address. I do not have a Trailer to take it to a Shipping Depot/Terminal.

This bike is bad ass, it turns heads and gets complements everywhere because it is one of a kind, it was built to be a California lane splitter. The 1000(bored to 1100) Ironhead motor sits in a 2003 Harley sportster hardtail frame, and a springer front end. It was also one of the last years they made right side shift. Electric key start, kick start was removed for the custom ceramic pipes. It has a fresh paint job, I just rebuilt the custom carb and changed out the fuel lines. It runs fast and loud with the custom Ceramic pipes. Custom made old school saddle seat (super comfortable) custom fuel bottle holder mounted behind your left leg. This bike is full of unique parts! please contact me with any questions or for better pictures. 623 670 2346 I will ship anywhere for a fee to be determined at time of purchase. I have the clean title in hand and fluids are drained, ready to ship.

I purchased this bike about 3 years ago. The bike was an all original bike as seen in one of the photos with white and red paint. The bike features a Road 6 Customs weld on hardtail frame kit with a 4" stretch and 2" drop. With the weld on hard tail kit the frame is able to retain the original VIN# so it is still titled as a Harley Davidson and NOT a special construction bike. The bike has 14,110 original miles. The engine is original and the cylinders show little signs of wear as seen in the pictures. The side cases are in great condition. The engine runs well and shifts well. All oil lines were replaced with the new round oil tank and new oil change. Brand new S&S Super E Shorty carb and chrome mesh air filter. I removed the engine from the frame and after installing the weld on kit and had the frame powder coated semi gloss black. The tank is the original Harley Davidson 2.4 gallon peanut tank with no dents or dings or scratches and was powder coated a darker red with some metallic. The Ironhead decal on the tank is removable if you want. The front and rear fender were powder coated gun metal gray. New Road 6 customs strut bars for rear fender. Road 6 Customs round oil tank powder coated gun metal gray. Brand new Avon Speedmaster tires front and rear. The forks have new seals and are powder coated semi gloss black. The seat is new Rich Phillips black leather seat with 2" chrome springs. New chrome hand controls and levers and black Biltwell grips. New Biltwell Frisco bars and risers. New Road 6 Customs side mount license plate mount. New Stainless Steel tail light off 1927 Ford model A. New chrome upsweep exhaust with black DEI heat wrap. New foot pegs. Brand new red top Odyssey battery. The bike has all new wiring that I did. All wiring is loomed and heat shrinked. New fuse box under the seat with stater relay. The coil and plug wires were cleaned up and are clean original parts. Over all the bike is in fantastic condition. It is a new custom build and is a sweet bar hopper. I have probably only put on about 150 miles since I completed it and it gets looks everywhere I ride. Buyer is responsible for shipping method and costs. A deposit of $500 is due 72 hours after purchase in the form of money order or cashiers check. The balance is due when the bike is picked up by the buyer. The bike is sold in as-is condition and no warranty. I am located in Phoenix, Arizona. Call or email with questions or to talk price 480-440-0921.

Up for sale is a very rare 1976 Harley Davidson Sporster 1000XLH Bicentennial Edition with 11665 Original Miles. The motor has not been rebuilt, as it hasn't even been properly broken in yet. It starts right up and runs great, sounds great, just like a Harley should. The seat that is on it is from the same era, but I'm not sure if it's original. I have seen it on a few of these Bicentennial Edition bikes, but have also seen another seat that more resembles other stock Sportster seats from that era. So it may not be original, but it is period appropriate. It also has highway pegs that seem period appropriate installed but I doubt those are stock either. I'm pretty sure it does have the stock grips on it, though the right side throttle grip is cracking and will need to be repaired or replaced (most likely). It has a trident top sissy bar that I know is from that era as well, but also unsure if that is stock...I think probably not. Tank Paint is original factory black metallic flake rough with flaking paint and some rust, though the decals have been sun faded and especially the eagle looks rough. Fenders are pretty decent, oil tank paint is good but a small dent you can't really see that could easily be fixed, in fact I might do that. 80% of the chrome is in excellent shape, but there are a few parts with a bit of rust. Very little pitting in the chrome. Tires are dry rotted but hold air. Brakes work good. Engine runs great! Transmission pulls and shifts great! Headlight and switches work, kill switch and start switch all work correctly. Missing Mirrors, missing turn signals. Tach and Spedo fogged, but I'll fix that before it sells. New battery, new oil, new filter, new ignition switch and keys, new transmission oil, new front master cylinder rebuild kit installed. **The Pics in this listing were taken before I changed the oil and battery and installed the new ignition switch and a few other things. Tomorrow I will take some new pics in the sunlight after I get her cleaned up a little better. I will add the video of it running and riding at that time.** Original exhaust, original paint, original wheels, original caliper and drum, original matching number on frame and motor which match the title. I believe it has the original chain still installed on it honestly. I just now removed the dipstick from the oil tank top so that I could use the easy to find drop in type oil filter canister instead of the vintage style. It still had the old school canister oil filter on it that the dipstick goes through. I still have the dipstick if it's important to the buyer. Original S&S Carburetor, though I think the breather cover may be a newer one and I only say this because it looks brand new, and even though the chrome is in really good shape on the bike, this part is like new looking. I have a clear KY title in my name and ready to be notarized for sale to you. No taxes owed on it, no leins, no issues whatsoever with the title. The title also of course matches the VIN stamped into the frame and the motor, and of course notes that it is in fact a Bicentennial Edition 1976 Harley Sportster. I have listed this bike for sale, though I am considering a cosmetic restoration on it to raise its value. I would however just assume sell it to someone who would enjoy performing the restoration themselves and whom might put a little more time and effort into the details of this Collectible Classic Bike. It is the coolest bike I have ever owned, but it's really not my style, I'm an 80's kid, and I love vintage 80's bikes. I wasn't even alive when this thing was made and I'm sure there's someone out there who would love this thing way more than I ever could. I am the third owner. The original owner owned it until a few years ago (though it had been in storage for about 10 years) until his death at which time it was left in his will to his daughter, from whom I purchased the bike. She never rode it, and I've only ridden it down the street and back a few times for testing purposes. The title verifies the mileage on the bike which matches the odometer, and has no brands of any kind. So the person who buys this bike is getting a true original that needs nothing to ride, but with a very little bit of cosmetic work could have a very valuable classic on their hands for a very reasonable price. I will be adding video of the bike running and riding tomorrow, as well as adding some new pictures to the description area to help you make your decision. Make me a reasonable offer, and it's yours! Pick up in Nicholasville, KY...though I will deliver for a fee within a reasonable distance with a paid in full deposit via paypal. 1980 Harley-Davidson XL 1000 Ironhead Sportster, Not a bad little bobber at all. Worth the trip to see it in person if you're into this sort of thing. - Starts and shifts easy. Only leaks a little. Gets lots of looks.
